Currently all tutoring is by Zoom appointments.
Located in the Cesar Chavez Student Center on Lower Sproul Plaza, the Student Learning Center (SLC) provides tutors for College Writing R1A students who sign up at the beginning of the term. You are entitled to a FREE one-hour weekly tutoring session. Sign up now for a tutor, even if you don’t feel that you need one at this time. Click here now to sign up for Weekly Service (HIGHLY recommended). Click here for Drop-In Service. Click here for general info about Appointment Services. You meet with an experienced Berkeley student or graduate every week to receive help with any stage of the writing process—idea generation, drafting, or revision; however, tutors are not available to proofread your papers. When visiting a tutor, always have your working drafts, prompts, and assignment sheets that will inform the tutor of the paper’s guidelines and objectives. Each residence hall has an academic center with drop-in writing tutoring, hours vary by location; check with your residence hall for more information, or see here. (When we're having class on campus), off-campus students can of course use the tutoring services at the SLC. For time management courses, study skills, or academic counseling, visit here. The Athletic Study Center offers student-athletes free tutoring; see button above, and your Learning Specialist for information. Additional Free Tutoring: See one of my colleagues during special office hours for support. As always, come to the 15-min. conference with a printed-out draft and specific question(s). See the schedule at the CWP website here.
