for Inclusive Language, Visual Literacy, and Many More! The verb talk for "exchange ideas" is ancient, some 800 years old, and it shares ancient storycraft roots with tale and tell. These classroom activities cultivate talking and resonate with Gen Z's "participatory culture," giving them space in which to share their stories and to hone their communication skills. These activities cultivate smart social learning, give students more agency, encourage intelligent play, help us all practice digital literacy, and promote excellence. Through peer review, choices for self-expression, opportunities for students to frame tasks as personal development, and shared model work, these activities cultivate what educator Zaretta Hammond describes as "authentic engagement and rigor." They also help teachers better grasp the "generation lap" (Tapscott). The palimpsest photo by Sjoerd Los is a Some Rights Reserved (SRR) artwork. Its full title is palimpsest. a palimpsest is a manuscript page from a scroll or book that has been scraped off and used again. or: a geographical feature composed of superimposed structures created at different times.
That describes many medieval manuscripts, and also teaching. |
